DAWN Endorsement Member Meeting and Potluck Brunch

Please join us for this important event where we will be endorsing candidates for the Nov 5th General election. To see a list of the candidates that were endorsed by DAWN during the primaries click here

What to bring: We would like to be able to give the candidates the maximum amount of money possible, so we appreciate our members bringing something to share for the potluck. If you could do us a favor by RSVPing, and let us know what you are bringing so we can plan accordingly. (Donations work too)

Agenda:

  1. Welcome and Opening Remarks: Interim President Claudia Rossi will give a welcome address and the agenda for the day. All candidates participating in the endorsement process will be given an opportunity to do a one-minute introduction.

  2. Presentation of the Consent Calendar: The executive board will present the consent calendar (a list of candidates they recommend for endorsement) which is grouped together for approval in one motion without further discussion.

  3. Member Voting on the Consent Calendar: Members in good standing will have the opportunity to approve the entire list of endorsed candidates with a single vote. If any member wishes to discuss a specific candidate, they can request to pull that candidate from the consent calendar for separate consideration.

  4. Discussion and Separate Voting on Pulled Items (if any): Any candidates pulled from the consent calendar will be discussed individually. After the discussion, separate votes will be taken on each motion for those specific candidates.

  5. Brunch and Networking: Enjoy brunch while networking with fellow members and talking with candidates.

Voting Eligibility:
As outlined in the DAWN Bylaws, only members who paid their dues 30 days before September 15 will be allowed one vote on each motion. Please ensure your membership is in good standing to participate in the voting process.

Meeting Conduct:
The meeting will be conducted under Robert's Rules of Order to ensure a fair and orderly process. Voting members must be present to vote.

The Endorsement brunch is open to all Democrats but only members in good standing will be allowed to vote or pull items from the consent calendar.

The Endorsement meeting will be run under Robert's Rule of Order in conjunction with DAWN’s Bylaws.
